LOYA Bases — the First Step to a Manicure That Lasts

A base is the first layer applied to the nail before color and top coat. It bonds the gel polish to the nail plate, smooths the surface, and protects the nail from pigment in the color coat. Without a base, even the best gel polish starts lifting within days — it's the layer everything else relies on.

Which base fits which job

Base Strong — a rubber base, the classic for bonding. Builds a solid foundation under the coating, works well on problem, oily, or damaged nails.

Base Hard — a hard clear base. A good fit for extensions or heavier designs — it holds its shape and doesn't shift.

Super Base — a self-leveling everyday base. Spreads itself out and smooths nail surface irregularities — a universal option for any manicure.

Elastic Base — an elastic clear biogel, TPO-free. Softer and more flexible than a rubber base — good for thin or weak nails that "give" under a stiffer base.

French base & camouflage bases — colored bases for French manicures and camouflaging the natural nail color, from milky to dusty rose shades.

Content Base — a protective clear base for anyone who changes their design often (looking at you, content creators).

Nail Care Gel — a specialized base for correcting curved nails.

Podo Base — a liquid elastic base for pedicures.

Why LOYA bases

All our bases self-level, don't cause heat during application, and apply in thin layers — even on very thin nails. They last up to 4 weeks without chipping or lifting, cure under any lamp, and are compatible with other brands' top coats and gel polishes. Every formula is TPO-free and 7-free.

FAQ

What is a gel polish base and why do you need it?
A base is the first layer of the coating system, applied to the natural nail. It bonds the gel polish to the nail plate and protects the nail from the color coat's pigment. Without it, gel polish holds less well and lifts faster.

Which base is better — rubber or hard?
Rubber base (Base Strong) gives strong adhesion and works well on problem nails. Hard base (Base Hard) holds its shape under weight — better for extensions or heavy designs. For everyday manicures, the self-leveling Super Base works great.

Which base should I use for thin or weak nails?
Elastic Base — an elastic biogel that applies in a thin layer and doesn't overload a weak nail.

What's the difference between a base and a primer?
Primer is applied before the base — it improves the bond between the material and the nail. The base is already part of the color system: the first layer of "base - color - top."

How long does a LOYA base last?
Up to 4 weeks without chipping or lifting as part of a full system with a LOYA top coat.

Can LOYA bases be combined with other brands' gel polishes?
Yes, LOYA bases are compatible with other brands' gel polishes, top coats, and gels.

Which base works for French manicures or camouflage?
French base and camouflage bases — colored, from milky to dusty rose shades, for French manicures and camouflaging the natural nail color.
